What do you love about the neighborhood?:  We found this home to be perfect to raise our family in. The children had the freedom of using the whole street to learn how to ride bikes, chalk art scooters and roller-skates. The yard was large enough to invite the soccer or ball team over to play. At night, it is so quiet and star viewing is perfect.

The property goes from the corner all the way to the end of the street. Across the street is a dedicated park. We are the only house on that street. We are on a corner lot so we really enjoy a ton of privacy and wildlife. On almost any given day, you will see birds, deer, fox and many other forms of wildlife in the yard and woods. We often held neighborhood bonfires in our front yard. We held many celebrations in our shop and there is always ample parking.

What are some great things about your city?: The NorthStar Metro Transit train station is 2 miles away. It provides easy access to downtown, Target Field and Mall of America. Central Park is on the corner of Armstrong and 161st. There are many city events held there and always hosting sporting events. There are 2 playgrounds, pavilions, tennis and basketball courts and a huge skate rink with a warming house. There is access to the Itasca State Trail in our neighborhood. Many trails for biking and hiking thru woods and wetlands. Very beautiful well-kept trails and great signage.

What restaurants are nearby?:  If you don't want to BBQ then Acapulco, China Dragon, Subway, Lunch Box, Willy McCoys and several pizza delivery are a few restaurants nearby.

What grocery stores or nearby shopping is there?:  Coborn’s Grocery has a great deli and meat department for outdoor grilling. Elk River is 8 miles away and has many retail stores and restaurants. Riverdale Center is one of the larger shopping areas and is continuing to grow and offer some great dining and shopping venues

Information about the schools in our area: The school district is Anoka-Hennepin District 11 https://www.ahschools.us/ Our children went to Ramsey Elementary, Sandburg Middle School and Anoka Senior High.

What do you do for interests and hobbies near the property?:  The Armstrong Kennels owns 90 acres just behind the house. They have a great modern facility that they board dogs at. Each August they host “Game Fair” A great outdoor sporting event. Most of the neighbors choose to take part in parking cars to accommodate the volume of visitors. This event is 2 weekends in Aug. You can choose to participate or not. It has been lucrative for us since we have one of the largest, flattest yards and can fit in several motorhomes, campers, trailers and many vehicles. We have a walking path along the fence that brings folks right up to the front gate. In 2017 the parking rate for our lot was $10.00 per space. We can get about 100 spaces in our yard.

Tell us about any additional property highlights, upgrades, recent updates that have been done:  The house has new carpet and flooring. New paint inside and outside. We started to replace the windows and doors. The 2 lower level bedroom windows were replaced in 2016. The French door in basement and dining room door were replaced in 2017. There is a wood burning fireplace in the lower level. We have an 800 sq’ shop on the property. It is fully insulated, has flooring, separate electric circuit box, an LP furnace, extra wiring was installed for 220 amp and 440 amp service. We have always used it for entertaining and extra space. It can easily be turned back into a garage or workshop

Key points about the house that we were drawn to when we first looked at the home:

The yard is very large and open. There are so many options for gardens and separate spaces.

There is a level pool pad in the backyard. There is a pool shed and electricity ran out to it for a pump and lights. There is a Koi/Water pond under the deck. Currently there are frogs living happily in the space but can be evicted if you prefer to get fish. There are 2 crabapple trees and 2 apple trees in the yard. The deer and robins love the crab apple trees. There are lilacs in the driveway, bridal wreath and burning bush in the yard.
